Hearing loss can be a tricky subject to address with elderly folks. I’ve had a hard time getting my parents on board - at first they seemed in denial and then afraid of the cost. I finally got them to agree to a test and Jennifer came this week. Her professionalism and patience were so appreciated. Being on the younger side of the spectrum for those I think would need hearing aids, I was put off by my wife's insistence to get my hearing checked. Too many "huhs?" and "sorry whats?" lead me to connect with Jennifer and book an appointment, honestly dreading the result. Jennifer's first at-home visit was incredible. Within an hour she had completed her tests within our home environment, produced a solution and presented the next steps in moving ahead. Her communication was highly professional and her approach to my situation was incredibly authentic and relevant. Over the course of three months, she moved me through three different products. Giving me the time to try, test and decide on them before they became permanent. During that process, she was keenly receptive to my feedback, responsive and each time presented a better alternative. In the end, my solution is a home run. I have a higher quality of life which has led to better understanding in my relationship and has increased my effectiveness in my business. In recent years I realized that I had sustained a hearing loss. A profoundly hearing impaired friend suggested I contact Jennifer Abbott at Hear at Home. Jennifer was a delight to deal with. She came to my home , tested me, and gave me a number of options. At no time did I feel she was trying to "sell" me something; rather she was giving me information and leaving decisions up to me. She was patient and and able to answer all my questions. I did purchase hearing aids from Hear at Home and they have worked as she described. Her follow up care was excellent and she was prompt and very careful to follow covid protocols. Jennifer is caring, knowledgeable, professional and comes to your loved ones home to help them get custom hearing aides and provide services to help them hear and communicate better. She clearly explained to me and my Father that the part of his brain that listens and interprets words was becoming impaired since his ears could not hear the words properly. He, and his friends and family members, were so much happier when we could have a proper conversation with him instead of him just nodding and smiling and pretending to hear us. Thanks to Hear at Home Mobile Hearing Clinic and Jennifer Abbott my 94-year-old mother is hearing better than she has in years and is enjoying it. Despite the fact that I live in Victoria and my mother lives in Vancouver, Jennifer made it easy for me make all the arrangements from a distance. Jennifer: • deals well with the elderly and cares about her clients • takes charge and manages all the details • is very thorough: she gave me regular updates by telephone and email on how she was progressing. She emailed me photographs of the devices we had purchased so I could inspect the product. • made a video clip – and posted it on YouTube – that illustrated how the hearing aids were functioning with my mother and giving very clear instructions on how to use the external microphone accessory we ordered, and demonstrating its effectiveness. This has been invaluable. I sent the YouTube link to family and friends and now they all know how to use the microphone when they visit. Jennifer is filling an important niche for people who are homebound or have limited mobility. From start to finish Hear at Home Mobile Hearing Clinic provided exceptional and timely service. Jennifer Abbott suggested hearing aids that were appropriate for my 101 year old mother. The attention to detail was outstanding as Jennifer included a clip and cord that attached the two hearing aids together which helps to prevent the aids from being lost if they fall out or the user takes them out. This is crucial in a care home. Proper instructions for inserting and removing were given and we wrote up instructions for the staff with photos. The Hear at Home support person, Emma was very pleasant and helpful. I would highly recommend this service for anyone with mobility issues.

Jennifer's mobile hearing aid clinic is a fantastic service. My dad lives on Bowen Island, so it was extremely helpful for him to get his new hearing aids without having to travel to the mainland. Jennifer is knowledgable, kind, good-humoured and helpful. She explains the options clearly. We did not feel at all rushed or pressured.
