Second Sound - Hear At Home's Hearing Aid Donation Program

BECAUSE EVERYONE DESERVES A SECOND CHANCE AT HEARING

At Hear at Home, we believe that better hearing leads to better connection. Through Second
Sound, our hearing aid donation program, we collect, refurbish, and redistribute gently used
hearing aids to individuals who may not otherwise have access to hearing technology.

THE PROGRAM

How Second Sound Works

Have hearing aids you're no longer using? We accept all brands and models in good working condition. You can drop them off at our clinic or mail them in.

Our team professionally cleans and inspects each device to ensure it’s ready for a second life.

We help connect these devices with individuals in need—bringing sound, confidence, and connection back into their lives.

Who This Helps

Second Sound supports individuals in the Greater Vancouver area who:

  • Cannot afford new hearing aids
  • Have no extended health benefits or coverage
  • Are committed to improving their hearing and quality of life

We work with local care homes, nonprofits, and families to identify and support eligible
recipients.

How to Donate Hearing Aids


Drop-off Location:

Mail Donations To:
Attn: Second Sound Program
(Same address as above)

Accepted Items:
✔ Behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aids
✔ Cases and accessories (if available)
✔ Unopened batteries

REQUEST A HEARING AID

Requesting a Donated Hearing Aid

If you or someone you know could benefit from a donated device:

  • Contact us to request an application form.
  • Eligibility is based on financial need and hearing loss suitability.
  • Please note: Hearing tests, fittings, and any required supplies (e.g., earmolds, batteries) are not included in the donation. These services are offered at reduced rates where possible.

OTHER WAYS TO SUPPORT SECOND SOUND

  • Make a monetary donation to help cover refurbishment and service costs.
  • Partner with us to refer clients or organize a collection drive.
